Assumption B.V.M. Parish Cemetery

The Assumption B.V.M. Parish Cemetery.

Located approximately one block north and west of the parish church and school property, Assumption B.V.M. Cemetery offers a serene setting as a final resting place for our deceased loved ones.

In October of 1973, the diocese of Green Bay mandated that all diocesan cemeteries were to follow the guidelines of the diocese. At that time, a cemetery committee was formed from a small group of parish members and the pastor. J. Michael “Mike” Marnocha served as the first volunteer sexton and caretaker of the parish cemetery. After Mike retired and moved away from the area, Lon Bartelt (822-3938) assumed the responsibility for that care and upkeep. Richard Styczynski (822-5485) and Don Murdzek (822-3864) also spend countless hours in the upkeep of this sacred space.

Thank you to all who gave to the cemetery road repaving project.

The cemetery has seen many improvements over the years. The brick building on the property currently serves primarily as a place for equipment storage. The trees, the shrubbery, and the flowers receive new looks each year. Drain tile was installed in the new, northernmost sections, and where possible in the older areas of the cemetery. Monuments that are in danger of tipping are straightened. The lawn is mowed regularly. Parishioners are currently raising funds for the cemetery road repaving project.

The Assumption BVM Parish Community is a Community that Cares.

The people who are members of this faith community take pride in this place. If you visit the cemetery, you are likely to see someone stopping to pray for various friends and neighbors, as well as their own relatives… and perhaps watering a neighbor’s flowers along the way.
